V-WISE vs Boots to Business

Both are recommended constantly. Both are free. They are not the same program and they do not solve the same problem. Here is how to know which one fits.

The short version

Boots to Business is a two-day intro. Free. Coed. Good for "is entrepreneurship for me?"
V-WISE is a 12-month program for women veterans and military spouses. Structured curriculum, cohort, ongoing mentoring.
If you are a woman veteran with an actual idea, V-WISE is deeper. If you have not decided if entrepreneurship is right, start with Boots to Business.

Pick V-WISE if

You are a woman veteran, active-duty woman, or military or veteran spouse.
You have a business idea or concept and want a structured runway to launch it.
You can commit ~150 hours over 12 months, including a three-day in-person conference.
You value cohort accountability and a peer network more than a self-paced course.

Pick Boots to Business if

You are still deciding if entrepreneurship is the right path for you.
You have less than 10 hours to invest and want the SBA's official intro course.
You are transitioning through the DoD TAP program or eligible as a family member.
You want to know what SBA loans, certifications, and support programs exist before you commit deeper.

Do both if

You are a woman veteran or spouse who has not yet decided. Start with Boots to Business to see if entrepreneurship fits. Then apply to V-WISE if you want to go deeper. Many V-WISE alumni took Boots to Business first.
