EBV vs IVMF STRIVE
Both are IVMF programs. Both are free. They serve different veterans, at different career stages, in different formats. Here is how to know which one fits.
The short version
- EBV is a residential bootcamp for post-9/11 vets with a service-connected disability. Selective. Full-time commitment during the residency.
- STRIVE is a hybrid cohort at community colleges. Open to any veteran, spouse, or family member. Evenings and weekends.
- If you have a disability rating and can clear a week for residency, EBV is deeper. If you cannot leave your job or have no disability rating, STRIVE is the match.

Pick EBV if
- You are a post-9/11 veteran with a service-connected disability.
- You can clear a full week (or more) for the residential phase.
- You want the deepest, most-structured IVMF program with faculty mentoring.
- You value university-network access (Syracuse, UCLA, Texas A&M, Missouri, and others).
Pick IVMF STRIVE if
- You are a veteran, spouse, or family member without a disability rating.
- You cannot leave your job or family for a residency.
- You want cohort programming with local community-college connections.
- You are pre-launch and need structured help to get to a first customer.
Do STRIVE first if you are eligible for both
STRIVE is a lighter time commitment and gives you the fundamentals. If you complete STRIVE and want to go deeper, you can then apply for EBV. Some EBV cohort members are STRIVE alumni.

IVMF (Syracuse University) + Syracuse University
Post-9/11 U.S. military veterans with honorable discharge (or currently serving within 180 days of separation, or National Guard/Reserve who served post-9/11). Applicants must be in the early start-up phase (within 12-24 months of launching or with a strong concept close to launch).
IVMF (Syracuse University) + Hillsborough Community College
Veterans with DD-214, active-duty within reach of separation, and eligible dependents (spouses, family with COE/SOB/DD1300). Applicants must have a budding business concept. Requires application, resume, letter of recommendation, and service documentation.
Monday Deadlines
EBV, STRIVE, and other cohort application windows. Delivered every Monday at 6am ET. Free.
