Editor's take
Post-9/11 veterans who want to enter agriculture but need a job and hands-on experience before starting their own operation. The relocation stipend is a real differentiator; most ag programs teach but do not help you move for the work.
You already own and operate a farm or ranch. Ranchin' Vets is oriented toward transition and placement, not scaling an existing agribusiness. For that, look at Farmer Veteran Coalition programs and state veteran ag grants.
DD-214, willingness to relocate for agricultural work, and clarity on what part of agriculture interests you (livestock, crops, equipment, management).
Ranchin' Vets assists post-9/11 veterans in the transition from military to civilian life through agriculture-focused programs. Operating in 35 states. Veterans use an online Veteran Community to find employment or training with agricultural employers, and the stipend helps cover the practical costs of taking that job. Complements the Farmer Veteran Coalition ecosystem already tracked in this library. Ranchin' Vets is placement-first; FVC is certification, grants, and community. Many veterans use both.
